Price: $110 (new) Description: Opinion: (E) - Let's see. You enter College. You take an elective class to knock off one nudge on your degree audit. What happens? You buy an expensive book for the class. This sums up what you have to do for most classes in college, and this one was NO deal at all. With such a high price tag, I tried to resell it after the semester ended. It didn't even get a bid, and albeit the book is in excellent condition. Stupid publishers and their new editions. I lost $100 on this baby, and the buyback policy at the college is like 5% of its original retail price. They can suck on the paper slice of my finger from the crisp dollar bills lost on this one!
Price: Free Description: Opinion: (B+) - Over the many years, I have collected Legos beyond recognition. Well, I actually broke aparty my scattered collection, and sold it into separate lots on eBay. Had to make at least a $600 profit off of the old toys (although $2,000 was probably invested by my parents, damn). This is just a small example of one of the lots. It consists of a few horses and some accessories. By simply naming that you have 6 Lego horses in an auction, this lot sold for $15. It was barely 20 pieces! If you happen to spot Legos at flea markets, scoff them up for cheap prices. If you have the time and effort, separate them into color/categories, weigh them, and sell them on eBay!
Price: $15 Total Description: Opinion: (B-) - While not an overwhelming gain in my opinion, this find proves to be both gainful and somewhat risky. The biggest risk is that Game Boys have a tough tight selling on eBay. The biggest problem is that no one really wants a black n' white gameboy, with all the new funky ones coming out, and the second part is that the battery cover is loose on the back. Still, for the games alone, this week was just deserving for the position. Both DKs can sell for around $10 each, with Tony Hawk and Game N Watch bringin' in maybe $10 together. I'll probably make $35, which isn't bad, although the profit doesn't meet my usual 300%. Wasn't much else to find for the rest of the week.
Price: $2 Total Description: Opinion: (A) - In case you don't know what Dairy Queen Baseball Helmets are, they're sort of like McDonald Toys. Back in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s, these things got handed out whenever you ordered a special dairy sundae. The cap was actually a holder for the ice cream, and after you ate the ice cream, you could keep the helmet as a collectible. Not only are these things kind of rare, but they're sort of big collectibles on eBay. A good complete set can go for $40, and I only paid $2 for this stack. There's 21 different teams, I ended up selling it on ebay for more than $20, that's a 1000% profit!
Price: $32 Total - ($8 price on each game, Buy 2 Get 1 Free, Bought 6 games - 2 Free) [One game is not pictured] Description: Opinion: (A-) - In my usual fashion, I went to check out my local video store which was recently bought out by a rich competitor. To my luck, I found out that they were selling previously owned games, or previous rentals for extremely low prices. I happened to find all of those games above for $8 each, and better yet, 2 of them were free thanks to the Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer. The best find was Ogre Battle 64 which could easily resell for $40 on eBay. This is definitely the type of thing that sprucens a person's spirit during the wintery season.
Price: $10 Total - ($1 for Excitebike, $5 for Rocket Knight Adventues, $1 for Track and Field II, $3 for Toobin') Description: Sega Genesis: Opinion: (B-) - I was kind of disappointed in this find. Not only is it small, but I also paid a bit more than what I really wanted. To start off, Toobin' was a great deal since the game is very valued on EBAY. Track and Field II is another rare sports game that could turn out a profit. Rocket Knight Adventures is a very fun game for the Genesis, but I don't like the price I paid for it. The lady was very stubborn in her prices. And Excitebike was a little treat for a $1. Nothing too fancy or eye-boggling. Better find next week.
Opinion: I believe this was an excellent deal for the price. To start off, I bought this at a yard sale with a bunch of baby toys. Apparently, they were getting rid of stuff and I happened to find it. Anyway, it came with the original box, however, it's in poor condition. I found many pieces unused in sealed plastic bags, and even all the stickers on their original pages. Best of all was that the manuals were still there. There is one problem though. I discovered one set of pieces missing and the stickers for those missing pieces were also gone. While this comes to be a shame, it still was a great deal for $5. This can easily be sold on EBAY for at least $25 since it's one of the biggest Hot Wheels playsets available.
Opinion: This is another neat thing I found. I was at my grandmother's house and she wanted to show me an old record player she had in the attic. This baby was made by Philco and it had to have been made at least around the 1920s. You plug it in, then flip the front down, place a record in like a CD, and after closing it, it starts playing it. There is no power switch, except for plugging it in. There's also some sort of a volume control crank on the left side. Unfortunately, it's been having problems playing records. It has something to do with the needle and I'm going to try and have it fixed. This thing could be worth in the $100s based on what they go for on ebay. |
