One of my favorite teams in the NFL is the Cincinatti Bengals. Simply put, they're one of the perfect teams I'd love to have for a franchise. As many of you know, we all love a football team. Some people are Cowboys fans, while others support the Eagles. However, my heart roots secretly for the Bengals even though most people hate them.

As many of you know, the Bengals were formed in the late 60s as an expansion team for Cincinatti. Although they haven't won a superbowl yet, that path in history will change. You see, many people feel pity for the Bengals because they suck. Most of the time, we have losing seasons or rarely make the playoffs. However, with the acquiration of one of the best running backs, Corey Dillon, I'm going to predict everything will change. In case you didn't know, Corey Dillon has the most rushing yards in a single game for a rookie. Not only that, but he has amazing rush totals for being on a team with a horrible offensive line. The actual problem with the Bengals is that they don't have an offensive line. Each year, they tend to draft another guard or offensive lineman, but the pick seems to go to waste. I mean, if you've been picking a top-selected OL for the past five years, how come your OL isn't superior as is. I'm not sure why, but if you have the 9th pick in the 1st round draft, I'd definitely take a quarterback.

You see, the actual problem with the Bengals is that they don't have a quarterback. A few years ago, they drafted a supposed stardom-like QB, Akili Smith to help act as a backup for the main QB. Unfortunately, he was injured and this hampered his career. After Blake left, a person named Kitna filled in the QB position and sucked horribly. Last season, he threw almost twice as many interceptions as touchdowns. This is the true reason why the Bengals lose almost every game. I mean, with Corey Dillon in the rushing game, all you'd need is a few first down passes to get by. But, the Bengals can't even reach their wide receivers because they don't have a decent QB. This year, they signed Gus Ferrotte to help act as a starter for the team, but his stats haven't been too well either. Hopefully, Akili or someone in the draft can help substitute for this lack of leadership. The Bengals have a great defense though. They have Takeo Spikes who happens to be one of the best linebackers in the NFL, plus Foley. If anything though, I believe the true and only solution to the Bengals is to get new coaching. Whoever has been making the draft selections must be really stupid.

*Regardless of the situation, the Bengals have hired a new coach, Marvin Lewis to be exact. Marvin Lewis was the former defensive coordinator of the Washington Redskins, whom by the way had a top-10 defense. This is a huge step up from Dick LeBeau, who was like a bum brought off the streets of London. This is Lewis's first real job in the NFL, and I'm sure he's going to live up to the challenge. With the Bengals having the first pick in the draft (assuming they don't trade down), this is definitely going to be a year for change.

Well, I did manage to get myself a Takeo Spikes jersey. Sure, he left Cincinnati for a "winning team" in Buffalo, but do I care? Hell no.
